~Rumour~
Hi all, I currently live in the north-west of sydney (just recently moved) and I'm after any vet recommendations in the area or close by as I don't mind a little bit of travel. I do not often go to the vet, only when my boy needs it but I want a vet that will ask questions about my dog and answer any of my questions. Just last week I took my boy for his 1st annual vaccination to a vet that was recommened by a work friend. It was an absolutely horrible expereince the two vet nurses/ receptionists ignored us for a good couple of minutes whilst they carried on their converstaion (which was not to do with any of the patients), the vet then only reffered to my dog as "this one" or "it", did not ask any questions about his diet or general wellbeing, then another vet nurse walked in plonked herself in the chair in the corner of the room and started to talk to him about another patient, no apology for the interuption and we we're then ignored as if we were not there. The vet then walked out and called the next person without seeing if there was anything else we needed to discuss. So I am now after a vet that will talk to me and at least refer to my dog by his name or at least calling him "him" not it! Any suggestions? Rysup
North Richmond Vet or a bit further down the road is Vineyard Vet, I also use Quakers Hill Vet. I float between all three myself. But with any vet it takes time to build a relationship, so be patient.
~Rumour~
Thankyou for your reccomendations i'll have to look into them. I understand that it will take a while to build up a relationship I just want a vet that is willing to talk and at least pretend to take an intrest. I understand that they are a business and can't spend a long time talking but if I pay for a consult I expect to be able to get one

juice
I use Quakers too, , but only see Blair. Its used by alot of greyhound trainers, i like his no nonsense hands on approach. 'Rappie' on here always gives great advice too, she is in parramatta.

As we are dealing with living beings (pets, as well as owners!), I would expect a different approach from vet and staff! Definitely would take my 'business' elsewhere. Our regular - nice - vet is in Five Dock. But I can highly recommend 'Alice Noe-Nordberg from Concord Animal Hospital'. She is wonderful. Great with Pepper, patiently answered soooo many questions, and was available for follow-up phone consultations, as well. Unfortunately, I think it might be too far from you? That's one of the things I love about Pennant Hills Vet - you're never rushed in a consultation, there's never a doubt they're interested in your pets - the vet there really cares and has a way with the animals. Plus they have a resident dane and newfy

Both are very good.
raz
[Plus they have a resident dane and newfy Just be careful with that Dane. He's very affectionate when you give him a pat and likes to knock you in the head. I heard birds twittering when our heads banged against each other.
