Golden Rules Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) I have a young dog that gets hiccups very regularly - often nowhere near feeding time so I don't put it down to eating his food too quickly (which he sometimes does). I know it's an irritation of his diaphragm but I do wonder what triggers the hiccups. But I have not seen any of my other dogs have hiccups ever. Does anyone else have a dog that frequently gets hiccups? Is it something a dog would grow out of as it gets older? BMAK Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 I had a rescue rotti x staffy pup she would get hiccups, i just thought it was from eating to much to fast ? as the poor girl was starving and she got into the food i gave her like she had not eaten. hiccups came soon after. D & D Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 I have two Danes. Both had hiccups a lot as pups. The first one freaked me out a little. Checked with her breeder and it's a common thing. Bundyburger Posted January 13, 2011 Share Posted January 13, 2011 Bundy had hiccups about 6 times a week when he was little.. I used to love it.. I'm so mean.. I'd crack up laughing every time.
