Bokezu
I know this has probably been done to death, but as I haven't had a litter for 2 1/2 years was wondering what the latest info is on age of first vaccination, is it still 6 weeks? I'm asking here as I think breeders know more than vets at times about these things. So should I get my litter done at 6, 7 or 8 weeks? comments appreciated
cowanbree
8 weeks here although the vet then wanted me to do 11 and 14 weeks as well when I normally only do 8 and 13 weeks
Barat
I do 8 weeks and 12-13 weeks. Over vaccinating is as harmful as not vaccinating.
Paptacular!
I'm following the 8 and 12 week protocol for when my litter arrives.

Bokezu
8 and 12.Mirco-chip at 8 as well. is that because you think 8 is minimum age to microchip? I was going to get mine done monday at 6 weeks (microchipped) think I had the last two litters done at 6. ETA I think I could do them at birth due to their weight LOL Edited January 13, 2011 by SwaY
oakway
First vaccination here at 8 weeks. But I am looking into the new Nobivac 10 week vaccination and it is said that NO further vaccine will be required during the dogs life. The new Nobivac is said to over ride parental immunity. (I have not bred a litter in approximately 2 years)
kelpiesrule
If you vaccinate at 8 weeks, what age do you let the pups go to their homes?
oakway
If you vaccinate at 8 weeks, what age do you let the pups go to their homes? Depending on the brand of vaccine. Nobivac has a 36 hour turn around. Any vaccine that enters the body starts to work straight away.
Paptacular!
If you vaccinate at 8 weeks, what age do you let the pups go to their homes? My idea at the moment is to keep pups until 10 weeks.
Zensu
We vaccinate and chip at 7 - 8 weeks. They usually leave for new homes 9-10 weeks.
