Comfortis

I ask this as I know in the USA there are side affects to it

I have used it on my dogs once and i liked how it worked but

have been reading about it and it can have some nasty side affects

and in some cases can cause seizures and death

So, was wondering if we have it manufactured here also and if it is different here to the USA

I tried ringing Elanco the manufacturers but u get put through to voice mail

Hi Bartok,

I only know that it is sold here, not as to where it is manufactured. I just assumed it is imported. My vet recommended Comfortis but before I give my dogs any new medication or treatment I do a far bit of research on it. What I found was similar to what you mentioned, seizures, allergies & death in some cases.

I have decided to stick to Sentinel until Comfortis has been on the market for a couple of years & the statistics change for the better. From what I read Comfortis was rushed through the FDA & even though they have an alarmingly high side effect they chose to release it anyway. My vet said a lot of his clients give it to their dogs & love it, one of my friends even gives it to her dog. As far as I am concerned though I will err on the side of caution.
