suzwh
Jenna my kelpie/heeler cross is 8 1/2. She has a tumor on her hard palate We had it biopsied(may 2010) but at the time it was defined as benign with the capacity to turn nasty Unfortunately as it is involved with the bone and is made up of tissue and bone it has not been possible to remove. No one feels it can be removed effectively. It was supposed to be slow growing (very slow) but has now tripled in size in 8 months. Has anyone had experience with a situation like this? vetrg
Depending where it is I would seek referral to a specialist surgoen with a soft tissue or oncology interest. They can do fairly dramatic palate resections and end up quite functional. Hard palate masses are often nasty- might be wise to have a repeat biopsy.
