Crisovar
We use the cans and the treat strips, have not tried the kibble. The cans are very well received, and have never caused a stomach upset, we have them on hand all the time for the oldies and as emergency rations. JulesP
Haven't really had a problem with any of their products. Don't use them all the time but happy to use if needed. The kibble is pretty expensive though and works out at about the same price as a big bag of premium kibble per 100kg. A couple of ingredients I don't like in the kibble. Everythings Shiny
Not a fan of the kibble here - mainly because of price and a couple of the ingredients in it.
Sandra777
I buy the kibble instead of the treats - works out much cheaper and lasts a while for show bait. Similar consistency to the treats so easy to pull in to small pieces. Don't like dried liver in hot conditions and can't be arsed making liver cake myself most of the time! As a food - can't really help you but I use the cans for travelling and to give pups a taste of something different.

JulesP what ingredients don't you like and why? Jed (my 8mth BC) loves the treats and thought he may take to the food as he just doesn,t like the biscuits I've given him so far. He doesn't like can food and he doesn't like much fresh meat at all. At present am using Enduro adult transitioned from Bonnie puppy. He is not an active dog and is healthy and a good weight according to the vet. So the sparse nibbling he does must be adequate...but I doubt it. He is always after the cat food but rarely gets any as I pick up bowls after animals have eaten and placed them up.
JulesP
Mainly the wheat and the sugar. I had a chat to them and the wheat is to bind the kibble and I think the sugar had something to do with preserving it. I think wheat is only a problem if your dog reacts to it. One of mine does, she gets quite itchy if feed a product with wheat. So you could try it and see how you go. My 1yo Border is pretty much refusing to eat any kibble so I feel your pain. If your pup likes cat food, have you tried any of the fishy dog foods? Eagle Pack make one, as do a couple of the other companies.

Out of interest how do you feed your Border? (Or try too Eagle Pack Holistic is now Holistic Select. Supply can be a bit iffy at times, though. My two are on a fish diet almost entirely other than for treats. I don't buy the cans of fish dog food, I get the Woolies Home Brand sardines, mackerel, and tuna (sardines and tun in springwater, mackerel in natural oil). Much cheaper and doesn't have any other ingredients. They also get, as fishy treats, green-lipped mussels and shark. I make home made fish biscuits for them, too. Their hard treats are bambi and lamb ears. Princess Mini is a very fussy eater and she loves the Holistic Select.
JulesP
Have actually seen cans of fish food for dogs but not kibble? Out of interest how do you feed your Border? (Or try too There is Holistic Select Anchovy, ProPlan Sensitive (which is Salmon based), California Natural Herring (only available through PP chains though), Candidae Salmon. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head! Feeding Amber is a pain. She likes Phuds which is similar to Vets All Natural. She likes beef mince. She likes chicken necks & wings & lamp flaps. She likes sardines but not on Phuds or on kibble! Hated Barf patties! She isn't a veggie fan either. She was eating the ProPlan sensitive but is now refusing to do so. ETA: she will eat 4Leggs very happily too and Ecopet rolls. Will sometimes eat NG tinned food. Mrs Rusty Bucket
I used to buy the treats until I read the ingredients and decided to switch to something else. I used to cut each piece into three because they were too big how they were. And quite frequently I'd stab myself with a bit of chicken bone. I didn't like thinking about that inside my dog. These days I will get a cheap roast meat eg 1kg of topside can be had for between $5 and $10 at our foodland and I still think the farmers get more from them than woolies or coles who can charge more than double.. - and slow pot roast it until tender, and then I eat some of it, and I chop the rest up into treat sized bits and freeze it in daily portion sizes (using freezer go between or snack bags). I also thought it was a bit rich that for the zip log bag with treats in it eg the "training treat pack" they charged more than double. ie you could buy a whole pack of zip locks with the difference. I also buy training treat sized things from Yellow Girl's shop, knowing they have quality ingredients.
