Shmurps
Has anyone had experience in a diet for cushings disease? Home prepared or commercial? All I can find is that the diet should be high in protien, low fiber, low fat and low purine. Food high in potassium such as potatoes with skin on, beans and brocoli. dachsiedowns
We have a mini longhair dachshund diagnosed with cushings at 10 months old - she will be 6 years in April. She gets fed advance adult small breed turkey & rice and minced chicken carcass - same as our others. the one stipulation is that she has to have food with her trilostane that we give in the morning. She gets 4 eukanuba puppy treats each morning. on commencing the trilostane her appetite did drop down a bit as one effect of cushings is a ravenous appetite. She weighed in at 3.1kg on the 22nd of December, so is about the size of a 12 week old. hope this helps some Has anyone had experience in a diet for cushings disease?
