Lyla
I was just browsing the officeworks website (after Ravyk mentioned their $200 laptops!), and found this bargain. http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/produ...eras/CA1000DTKB
rubiton
Have seen it even cheaper in the newspaper adverts too. Perhaps a new model coming out?
piper
Have seen it even cheaper in the newspaper adverts too. Perhaps a new model coming out? I thought Harvey Norman had it for $498 last week. Not sure if that was with twin lens kit though. eta: Nope was only single lens for that price. $598 for the twin. Kirislin
I think neither of those lenses have IS. They'd be the ones I got when I bought my 400D. While I did get some good photos I found they were pretty ordinary lenses.

rubiton
IS isnt the be all of everything and if you are using a high enough speed and holding the camera fairly stil it doesnt actually kick in at all (I can feel when it goes on my lenses and its not that often unless its windy). A basic lens could be all some need for their photos.

When I bought my camera everyone said to me, get IS and when I asked the salesman if they were IS lenses he assured me they both where, but they weren't.
