Thanks Nik! :( I'm happy with how they look. I like your ouchie :)

Day 069 - 10.03.11

Grateful for...

Two things today:

(1) The girls at my local coffee shop. They are beautiful and look after me (and my boys!) every single time I am there and deserved to be recognised for it.

(2) These gorgeous B&W presets that I won today. I'm in love.

They're not bad for using the pop up flash (which I assume you've done?). You need a speedlight. Flash is my least favourite thing about photography :)

Yeah - I had the pop-up flash. Ahhh will look into a speedlight - thanks for that :p I HATE using the flash!!!!! and also taking indoor photos at night

Ive been practicing taking shots indoors with no flash, what I do is bump up the iso, and use the camera on Shutter priority, and just click off some shots that look like they are the most natural. Its easier during the day if you have lotsof natural light But at night i have as many lights on as possible  I don't like using the flash at all as the dogs always have thier eyes shut. I have a speed light many I should figure out how to use it!

I have a borrowed Speedlight and still don't really like using it. But it's necessary at weddings etc. The idea is to bounce it off something (like a white ceiling or wall) to get a much less harsh affect.

You can use it off the camera too, but then it all starts getting beyond my understanding :)

I still only use it on the camera, but if you play around, you can get some funky effects.

Sorry, that's really OT :(

Ah Nik - I should've thought of you! I knew there was someone that used their speedlite really well and often :banghead:

All of my indoor shots (except a rare few) are with the speedlite. I am really wanting to learn more about off-camera flash though, so that I can play with the light a bit more. One book that was recommended to me to look at is Speedliter's Handbook: Learning to Craft Light with Canon Speedlites by S Arena. It's not expensive, either!

We have our big Worlds Greatest Shave day tomorrow so Tully had a bath so she is nice and clean for the clipping, she is very shaggy in this shot so I thought it was a good before shot. I will take another in the same spot tomorrow night.

Sid coming home.

Our little French Bulldog puppy came home today and he is slotting in like he has always been here. He loves the boys and followed them around this afternoon.
