Guest CaptainCourageous
Just wondering if a puppy's date of birth should be when the first in the litter emerges, when the last in the litter emerges, or when that individual pup emerges? Our next litter is due on NYE, so my question's not just about which day but which year! CC
-Megz-
A litter has to be registered on one day - there is no way to individually give a puppy a date of birth. Just pick one day or the next... I can imagine it'd be the next coherent day HAHA
oakway
The date of birth is the day the first pup is born. Or what Megz said.
Paptacular!
Yep, date that the first pup emerges.
nynka
Too easy, I'd definitely choose a DOB of 1.1.
ophnbark
Our last litter had the first pup born at 11.48pm and the second pup born at 11.55pm, the next two were born after midnight. The date of birth for the litter had to be the date the first pup was born on even though they just scraped in to that date.
Paptacular!
Too easy, I'd definitely choose a DOB of 1.1.11 As far as I know, you can't/shouldn't choose..... the DOB is what it is. 31/12 is just as easy to remember.
SparkyTansy
i don't think it matters - a day hardly makes a difference... however if it was me, i'd choose the date the first pup emerges.
Bilbo Baggins
I believe it is the date that the first pup appears. But it does seem a bit silly when the bulk could appear later. I had one where 1 pup before midnight and 6 after. Can not recall what I did.

Lyla
I go with the date the first one is born. I had heard somewhere that you go with the date the majority were born.

Parkeyre
Go with what it is. The litter was born on the 31st of December, 2010. The first pup was born then, that's the date to go with. Congratulations.
Jed
The rules state that the birth date is the date on which the first pup was born. I had a New Year's Day litter a few years ago. No fudgin' either. Born from 7am on. Such a good girl to consider my beauty sleep. But really --- who is to know what you do if one is born on one date, and the rest on another? No one except you. Guest CaptainCourageous
Bilbo Baggins, that's two litters in a row where I've been stewarding when they've arrived! We're very aware of the "too many cooks" proverb. CC
