whiskedaway
I'm pretty sure there was/is a deaf dog at my obedience club - I remember someone talking about him and I think it was there that I heard about it. I go to Para Dog Club, maybe drop them an email and ask?
Parkeyre
Is this the merle coolie mix from SA Dog Rescue? If so; she's gorgeous!
westiemum
Yep I second Adelaide Pet Dog training. Small group and they'll adapt their classes to your dogs needs. My old westie has had a complete ear ablation 12 months ago on the left. Assumed he had hearing on the right - not so sure now as he appears to be very deaf now. So I'm very careful with him. Good luck and will be very intersted to hear how you get on. Not sure where in SA you are but you should speak to Adelaide Pet Dog Training. They use positive reinforcement and have recently had a deaf Boxer in their classes - and as far as I know it has been very successful. Good luck. Skitch
Is this the merle coolie mix from SA Dog Rescue? If so; she's gorgeous! I surely hope not..! The poster says they didn't realize the dog was deaf when they adopted her.. :p. Best of luck with her ! I've met a few deaf dogs in my time and it's amazing how well behaved and trained they can be despite their disability.
