If he looks like he is having trouble kicking his leg over her back then I will assit him then sit on the ground & hold the bitch as she usually tries to roll over or something silly, plus they like the reassurance I think. Christina Posted December 21, 2010 Share Posted December 21, 2010 I always try to put virgin studs to experienced bitches. Not always possible but easier. The dog will figure it out but may take a couple of days to get there. Help for dog not needed, only be there & help if things go amiss & don't let dog exhaust himself. My import boy who is the sire of my current litter of 11, looked a bit lost at first, but I just let him work it out, and there was no stopping him.
