Elsha_UK_AU
I had my boys groomed the other day for the first time (professionally). She wanted to buzz cut them allover! She was shocked when I said "No". But they are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and I don't want that look for them. I asked her to give them a sanitary buzz (cos they wee on their own stomach fur) and to clip discreetly/thin out the coat. She did a good job and they look much neater - but she did cut their "Slippers" off. Since I am not showing them, I will cope with that... Least they won't be picking up every bindi out there on their paw hair now
Chipps
Ok folks, thanks for all the advice. looks like my questions are sorted So in a nutshell, here's what I should be doing...... My Cairn Don't clip coats short. Thin out his undercoat on a regular basis. This should make him more comfortable with the heat & easier to maintain his own natural cooling. The Maltese's OK to clip single coat short. Do as often as needed.Be aware of sun exposure. My Cattle X Lab (note avatar) :D Ahhh......perfect as is. Just a good brush & she's happy. I have learnt stacks. so a huge thanks. Out come the clippers & sedatives :D (joking) Chipps Edited December 20, 2010 by Chipps
