Labkisses
Hello everyone Just wondering if anyone has experienced their bitch showing different signs of coming into labour than she did with a previous litter? For example...if your bitch stopped eating 24hours before coming into labour, temperature drop etc, would you expect her to show the same signs with her next litter? Our girl is now overdue, with her first litter she stopped eating 24hours before giving birth, her temperature dropped, she started nesting but this time round her temperature has dropped this morning to 36.8 but is still eating normally and looks completely happy within herself. I hope that I'm not missing any signs, she hasnt started to nest so I'm not sure if the temperature drop is an accurate sign that she will whelp in the next 24 hours. Thanks again
Tentapride
Im going through the same thing here. Diva hasn't given me any forwarning this time around until this morning until I noticed shaking. She ate last night and was chasing the mowing around the back yard as well. I have also had a girl give absolutely no indication until she started contracting. Running around with the others in the am. Gave her a bath then 1 hour later she was pushing. Sounds weird I know but she kept it well hidden right up until the point of pushing for some reason. That one was 6 days early as well but whelped a litter of 5 healthy pups with no issues.
Bilbo Baggins
I would suggest that everyone is different. Maybe some slight bits the same. Mine never give up on eating. But last Saturday Cleo only ate half of hers then went through all the huffing and puffing and no pups. Still no pups which is better as closer to due date. Never nests. Her mother wanted the whelping box from 1 week out and is a constant rearranger of any bedding including the bath mat this morning. Ruby would sulk around and give no indication, her last litter had the first one on my friends knee.

Ha, Ruby....I can picture that happening, ....lol... Think my Lele is the same, she doesn't stuff around much, by the time she huffs & puff we are ready to catch the first pup. And then it's a race to keep up as she pops them very quickly. I was warned though, her previous owner told me to be on guard.

ophnbark
One of our bitches was extremely picky with food and would eat virtually nothing about a week out for her first litter. Second litter she ate everything in sight, had a big dinner then promptly went in to labour
Labkisses
Well guys, our girl had her puppies yesterday...she ate breakfast and lunch as usual, showed no signs until just a couple of hours before hand when she started digging in the garden and we saw white discharge coming from her. She wasted no time then whelping 7 gorgeous little bundles of fur So I guess she wanted to keep us in suspense and waited until the last minute to show signs that she was ready to have the little bubbies. She was a day early in her previous litter, this time she was a day late lol so there really has been no consistency with her.
