Huntia
Hi, I have a six month old rhodesian ridgeback puppy, that is shedding at the moment. I was wandering if any one had any good tips on efficiently getting rid of the loose hair out of his coat. I have been using a "shape n Shed " (metal double sided comb) and a slicker brush. Just when I think no more hair is coming out with the brushes I will rub my hands over him and more loose hair!!! What does everyone else use? and do you have more success? piper
After reading it on here somewhere I bought a pair of rubber gloves and wore those while giving the beagle a vigorous body rub. She loved it and I could not believe how much hair came out. Which reminds me I haven't done it again for a week or so, will do it again today and see how much more comes out. I have never got as much coat out of her as I did with the rubber gloves.
poodlefan
A warm bath and a Zoom Groom should see a lot of hair removed.

Huntia
Thanks, I will give all of these ideas a go. I noticed that ebay has furminators on sale for $15 so I might purchase that as well. His coat looks patchy at the moment with darker spots where the hair is shedding "better" and lighter patches which I assume are "dead" hair ready to come out. It would be nice to try and even things out before this weekend as we are going to a show( our last for the year  . )

A good warm bath before to loosen the coat and then a good brush after dry to get the dead coat out.

Thanks using a rubber brush simmiliar to the zoom groom, the warm bath, and using the furminator when he was dry worked a treat. :D Thank you to everyone that gave me some advice.
