"Hug a scared dog"! really??? i didnt watch the vid but how dumb are the people Yeah, 'hugging' a dog so scared it pooped itself was the answer. He was just lucky he didn't get bitten. Then it says don't overlook these 'types' of dogs in shelters.
GoldenGirl85
dogs cannot have human feelings because ...they are not human Agreed, the dog was only showing true fear, but TBH who knows what happened before the camera got switched on, this dog was locked in a crate with very poor visability, she was confronted by god knows how many people, there was at least 2 but Im guessing there would have been more in that room...the only emotion she showed was fear

Then it says don't overlook these 'types' of dogs in shelters. wow, it never ceases to amaze me the stoopidity of how some people interact with scared dogs and who have no idea of how to read dogs behaviour. also, i think people need to be more pragmatic when it comes to rehoming dogs....not all dogs should be rehomed, some should be pts because they are ticking time bombs in the wrong situations. but more importantly we need to have trained dog behaviourists assess dogs before the public get anywhere near them sorry rant over. WreckitWhippet
only emotion she showed was fear and total submission.....eventually That was what I got out of it. Fear and attemtping to flea and submission when there was nowhere to go. The dog simply shut down.
sas
I found it troubling that the people in the video seemed clueless about dog behaviour and how to handle the situation. Patting the dog showing fear? *shakes head* As for dogs feeling human emotion, what in earth are you on about? Dogs can experience fear, who ever questioned that they couldn't? Fear isn't a 'human' emotion, it is an animal emotion, humans are also animals. Edited December 4, 2010 by sas
