Moselle
There's plenty of them about. You just have to make sure that they don't come with 10 of their own Heh. I've often wondered about this. I've read things about Dog Lovers Falling In Love With Non-Dog Lovers and experiencing Woe but what happens When Dog Lovers Meet And Fall In Love but their respective dogs might not get along at all!? In our house, I'm actually the fussy one. OH would let the dogs sleep in our bed if he had his way but I have allergies. They're allowed in the house (we deliberately picked laminate over carpet) but they are not allowed on sofa, day bed or in or on our bed. I go to bed first and OH goes and chooses a dog each night to come and jump on the bed with me. Sometimes he kicks whoever it is out when he comes to bed but most of the time I wake up in the morning, with a dog in my face. OMG, I would have the perfect marriage if only my OH had the same attitude as yours. Seems to me, that in life, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Just out of curiosity, what star sign is your OH?
Bjelkier
My OH adores our dogs and would never even suggest me leaving them outside! He sleeps with at least one of the dogs curled up with him, gives them food of his plate, rolls around on the floor with them, he loves them as much as I do. WreckitWhippet
Actually, my dogs interviewed my OH for his dog suitability !!!!he's a messy bugger and I'm a reasonably tidy person, so we have a few issues there ! At the moment its foster kitten city in our house and we are BOTH over it !!! As long as OH has his little nest on the lounge with his computers, he would'nt notice if the dogs and cats were stacked vertically ten deep in the house !! took me a couple of husbands to find this one though ! fifi I've had the odd dog here a few days before he's noticed

Moselle
Mine doesn't care and why should he, I'm the one that cleans the place and looks after the dogs.We have two inside during the day, the two free range Whippets and at night there's 8. It can be hard to claim a piece of lounge and the corner spot is always popular. You have to trick a dog into getting off and jump in fast Tell you OH to stick it Lucky you! I clean the house, he would help but given that he works full time and I am at home atm, I make it my task to do the chores, that hasn't made an ounce of difference though. If your dogs mean that much to you and you want them all inside, do it. I can't see how or why people live together when they are apparently at opposite poles, when it comes to pet ownership. It's so much eaier and nicer to love and live with someone who is like minded when it comes to the pets Given that we do get along with just about everything else, if I did put my foot down and had all of my dogs in the house it would spell disastrous, he would be packing his belongings and march away never to be heard of again Never mind, he'd just be making way for someone who does love the dogs and would be happy to have them in the house. ;) Yea true....but at what expense? lol....some blokes have some strange attributes. This guy has manners, doesn't fart in bed, etc etc. Someone that is liberal in letting it rip would most certainly dampen any romance imo.

I'm the one that has to be practical when it comes to animals, my OH would keep all 4 of these dumped kittens we have right now, so I don't have an issue with him and pets. Your OH sounds more like your dad moselle.

I guess if they were extra staffies of the same colour they'd just blend !!! We have a deal, he doesn't care how many dogs I have or how much of our food budget goes on the dogs, as long as he can have his running account at the computer shop to buy bits for his toys !!! fifi

Now it sort of sounds like you're trying to defend him - a guy who holds back his farting doesn't have manners, he probably has issues with doing it in front of you! ETA: guys fart = normal, dogs shedding coat = normal but, each to their own. Edited December 2, 2010 by Aziah

Only he also added his xbox addiction to that as well. I actually just went and asked my OH what would happen to him if he ever told me to keep the dogs outside, his reply "Um you would probebly make me sleep outside....." ;) Bless him he's a good boy. I'm very lucky, my OH adores dogs and is actually getting into the show scene himself But I'm like Poodlefan, I don't compramise about my passions. Your OH sounds more like your dad moselle. Well, I presume he would, not 100% sure though. I know that he would be constantly nagging about it if he did opt to stay although I doubt it. I do wish I was allowed more dogs in the house but accept it as he is a really nice person in so many other ways.

I had the same notion in that I always thought that no matter who I got involved with, he would have to make do but sometimes some things are easier said than done and you have to learn to make compromises. If he was an a*hole he would have been shown the door in no uncertain manner.
Guest Tess32
Well considering we've had three dogs on the bed at once plus us.....I'd say he's fine with it (I on the other hand got them off there and out of there quick smart, hehe)

The first one I got, I had to keep a secret for weeks and had him delivered to the show. The second one also rocked up but when it came to the thirs, I actually had to discuss it with him I've been known to go away for a weekend to look at a pup and come home with two . That's happened more than once. and then there was this current litter, that I wasn't keeping anything out of. Until 11am this morning, there were still three here at 13 weeks ;) I have all black brindle SBT's and I;m sticking to it for a very good reason
Bjelkier
That's fair enough, you choose to compromise Moselle. I personally would just stay single, I couldn't be with someone who didn't understand my passions.
Kaz
Oooh. Sound like your husband is not just fussy but also very controlling of you. He must do all the housework and cleaning to give him the right to 'draw your attention' to things. I would understand if he became irritated at muddy paws on the gleaming kitchen floor he had just finished scrubbing. If he was mine he would be getting a huge kick up the whatsit.
