How Fussy Is Your Oh Pertaining To Dogs Inside The House

So I'm guessing aliens posted this without your knowledge? :) Why write it if it isn't true?
My hubby is extremely fussy, he loves dogs but is adamant that no more than two dogs are allowed in the house, one of them is my 10yo maltese, the fact that she doesn't shed is an added plus, the other is a chihuahua x, she sheds only marginally. He would never allow big dogs in the house. I opened the front door once and another dog waltzed into the house, he saw red  . He made a big song and dance about nothing. The dog was inside for a mere few seconds and was then escorted out, no big deal. If he sees a small amount, and I mean...small amount, of dog hair he will bring my attention to it :) If I take my maltese or my chihuahua x in the car with me and they leave small paw marks on the windows he points it out to me accompanied by a comment or two. He doesn't like the idea that I give my maltese a tid bit from my plate, he says that she should be eating from her food bowl ;)

Please please tell me what your OH is like?

EDited to say that I don't let the dogs eat directly from my plate but sometimes I will pick a small amount of food and give it to her directly and she eats it off my fingers in a way that my fingers don't touch her mouth at all.

i am quite confused with moselle's posts because they are often contradictory.

makes it hard for me to know what one is the truth and which ones to believe :)

You know only too well that there is nothing whatsoever CONTRADICTORY about my posts! You are another poster with an axe to grind :rasberry : You really need to do some serious growing up instead of harbouring grudges simply because of a difference of opinion.

I have worked as a psychologist for 20 yrs.

...that explains alot then doesn't it.

;) enjoy your "controlled" thread I can understand you putting several of us on ignore - it allows you some control back into your life :)

As you already know, I had you on the ignore list because you, Raz and Reverend Jo are always making a point of twisting and blowing everything I say out of all proportions, such insidious nastiness....you really do have problems with letting go :)

I don't need to have some control back in my life :) It's all a matter of not listening to your incessant crap because that's all it is, so much harping on about bullshit. You are so blantantly obvious in that you are determined to make things impossible for me around here and all because I don't believe in killing my own meat.

Three of mine have just come back from swimming in the dam/lake and have convinced OH to let them back inside, wet n all :) now that's love , or stupidity ... not sure which yet

OMG....that sounds great if you are of the same opinion but if my OH allowed wet & all dogs in the house I would be having a fit.

what's another three sets of wet paw prints and wet dogs in the house. It's rained non stop for a week. It's just dirt and water and it will wash off.

We've tiled our entire house from top to bottom and we simply chuck the lounges out and buy new one's every couple of years.

I don't mind mopping but I hate washing walls

Sorry OT but had to comment on the washing walls thing. Hate it, hate it, hate it. Wish the dogs would learn to walk through doors properly, too.

I'm wondering if maybe I misinterpreted Moselle's post. I interpreted "allowed" as being meant in a lighthearted way? For example I might say "My OH isn't 'allowed' to watch a certain tv show every night of the week because there's a show that I want to watch on Fridays had we only have 1 tv, so he 'lets' me watch my show on Fridays." I would mean that in a jokey way? I thought that that was what Moselle meant? That her husband is a bit uptight regarding certain aspects of the dogs?

I didn't think that she actually meant that he has control over her, and permits her to do certain things.

Like my OH doesn't 'allow' the dog on the bed when he's on the bed, but I don't think of that as controlling. I think of that as compromising - I have the dog on the bed before OH comes to bed.

Not having a go at anyone, just saying how I interpreted Moselle's post and was wondering if anyone else took it in the same way.

Loved the story about the dog zipping around the chair several times before OH noticed :)

I think you might be right. It's not as though we're construing a piece of legislation or something in which we have to agonise about whether "allow" means actively "permit" or simply means to "not prohibit" :) OH is a cat person but he can't have cats because of my allergies - some might say that I do not 'allow' him to have a cat. The dogs also can't come into the bed because of allergies so some might say I don't 'allow' dogs into the bed ... Relationships are all about compromise. I know if I wasn't around, my OH would have cats but he's made a decision that he can wait until I kick the bucket until he gets one ;)

;) Yea, well....my dogs have learnt the art of walking through doors but my comment was based on a wet dog and no matter how well trained the dog in question is....the fact is that dogs do shake and just imagine the muck of a wet dog shaking, it would stick on wallks, furniture....you name it :)

Will you guys quit your petty squabbles.

Apologies Troy...I think we can bin this thread, none of it is helpful or has a point.

A lot of the topics on the forum don't have points. Don't participate in a topic if you feel that way about it.
