Which seems a bit unfair, I would have drop kicked the Chi across the room so he showed restraint. Nasty little critter. nahhh, my old vet was super hot, had a brain that functioned, some common sense and knew how to treat an animal. Adnil444 Posted November 25, 2010 Share Posted November 25, 2010 Just goes to show that vets are just like doctors - they know how to treat an illness or fix a broken bone etc etc, however that doesn't mean they know anything about breeding, behaviour, breeds etc. They treat and fix (though I'm sure some do know lots about different breeds, behaviour etc). And this is exactly why I have a problem with Bondi Vet, because this is the impression he helps to create about vets. Had the dane acted that way, or the rottie they would have been recommending euthanasia. Why he didn't hand the owners a muzzle for it is beyond me. It looked like he was thowing the stick into that rough surf from those rocks for the dogs to fetch - what was with that? Also treating the one with the ear infection with human antibiotics.... Think about it - how did the camera crew know he was at the beach with a sick dog and was then going to the vet :D A lot of the show is staged - he would have turned up at the vet for a consult and then they shot some location shots afterwards once they decided his story was worthy of the show. I couldn't get over the idiot actually putting his fingers into the mouth of that Chi who was CLEARLY going to bite him........and then he looked stunned because he got bitten. ...and as for him showing his 'soft side' over that darling little Joey.......Ohhh paleeez......it was obvious it was ALL show for the camera. If he really had any thought for the joey ..he would have handed it over to one of many professional EXPERIENCED wildlife rescue people who deal with and save the lives of young joeys all the time. I think Chris is fantastic looking, especially with his shirt off, but I dont like celebrity vets full stop. I'll stick with my own celebrity supervet because I'm confident he knows what he's doing with my animals and doesnt get them stirred up first to make for more interesting tv. Maybe we dont fit the target demographic, RSG. It's obviously targeted at older single women who like to swoon over the hero pin up boy with a great tan and sunkissed hair. rastus_froggy Posted November 25, 2010 Share Posted November 25, 2010 I have never watched the show before but I was flicking channels last night and saw the chi bit where he was trying to give it the tablet (not sure what had come before that) but the way he went about it was terrible. He obviously knew it was not going to let him put it in it's mouth, why didn't he just tell the owner to do it or he could have put the tablet in some food rather than provoke the poor little thing more. He was wonderful with our dog, when he was very sick, so I still have a bit of a soft spot for him. Remember, what they show on tv is what they want you to see - like that Bear Grylls guy - what a lot of rot that is. His wife also bought not one, but TWO Maltese x Shih Tzu puppies on impulse from a pet store- while she was on holiday!!! Then he had the nerve to 'road test' the 'breed' on Tv.
