I try not to assume but in this case you'd hope so huh...

Hopefully the OP will return and clarify.

Yes both parents Are clear by parentage, and yes it was covered in the exam, and maybe I could've done it later but I wanted to Have it all done for my puppys new owners.

So we will continue with her normal exersize regime and let her tell us when she's had enough and we will now supplement her diet with some puppy mix and some raw chicken. Grow puppies grow

And also I might be new at breeding but in no way would I go against the code. I have owned Bull breeds for over 30 years .

I love my dog and the breed and I would like to do it right, I'm sorry if you are all rolling your eyes.

But it's all good, no it's Xtra good  just after the discharge I looked here for some advise, maybe I'll just stick with what I've got

Just jumping in here out of curiousity.... :(

L2-HGA and HC are the two that can be DNA tested in Staffords.

What exactly are these tests? :( I think health testing requirements depends entirely on the breed you have. for example we have Rotti's and we need to have hip x-ray reports, eye and teeth/bite certs BUT we all do elbow x-rays too even though we are not required to.

surely health testing was covered in your prefix exam??

The OP is from WA and each State/Territory appears to have their own sets of regulations to some degree unless they are a directive from ANKC or your specific breed body nationally.

What exactly are these tests?

Both are genetic conditions caused by simple recessive genes and we are blessed to now have DNA tests which can be done via simple cheek swabs

L2-HGA is a neurological condition which causes epileptic type fits which become progressively worse until almost all affected dogs need to be PTS. It affects dogs from a very young age (6-7 months)

Curiously L2-HGA is only known in humans and Staffordshire Bull Terriers - which tells Stafford lovers something they already knew

HC is hereditary juvenile cataract which affects dogs prior to their 2nd birthday. It has been in the breed for a very long time, and is also present in breeds with a similar background - I might be wrong but I think the Boston Terrier HC test is for the same marker as the Stafford one.
