melstar-36
thanks guys, and yes it is spelt that way. the lady seems very genuine and knows alot about the breed. im just doing my background searching. About a year ago, i found a dog on the net, contacted what i thought was a breeder and it turnt out to be a scam. so im just being caustious, and she only breds every 12-18 months from her bitches. so i can cross out that she's only in it for the money. Gretel
If you are located in Victoria why do you want to buy from Queensland? There are lots of Cavalier breeders in Victoria and you can meet the Mum and pups and have the breeder closer for support. Does this breeder show her dogs? Why is she breeding? Does she heart test with a cardiologist?
melstar-36
i just havent found the right breeder yet and this lady seems delightful, its a shame shes in queensland. thats why im asking whether anybody knows her and her dogs. we are only discussing me purchasing a puppy from her, i havent said yes yet!!! i may seem fussy but i just want to make sure im getting the right puppy. her dogs are pedigree's and pup comes with papers, health insurance and yes they are tested and have good bloodlines. Jed
Has the breeder offered to scan and send you copies of the health tests, particularly heart scans, conducted on the parents? Do you know which bloodlines are "good" in the Cavalier world? Please don't think I am having a go at you - if you have done a bit of research (apart from DOL) and/ or you have had Cavaliers, you do know. Personally, I would buy a puppy from someone in my own state - ie, Victoria. You can then see the parents, see the pups, and if there are problems, you can go to see the breeder, as well as having a good source of information and assistance close to you. I am in Qld, and I haven't heard of Regalborne, so please don't think I am being critical of them or their stock, but everyone does better with breeders local to them ... unless you particularly want a specific bloodline - but with Cavs, the same good lines are pretty well everywhere in Aus. I don't think there is anything specific to Qld.
Lindainfa
There are so many wonderful, reputable breeders in Vic. I can recommend you my Cavaliers breeder. http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/member...ame=COATESVILLE She doesn't have litters often. My cavalier has the perfect true temperament. Meredith is the breeder, she only has I think it was 7 dogs, all live inside with her and pups bought up inside. I got the parents heart certificates. She is a lovely lady!! melstar-36
i contacted the cccq yesterday and yes, she is a registered breeder. she has offered to send me the copies of the parents medical checks and also has given me references of people who have purchased a puppy from her. and my answer to why buy a dog from queensland, is that the breeders that i have contacted from victoria have been "suspecious" of my reason for wanting a puppy on main registeration papers ( not saying that there all like that), im wanting to have a try at showing puppy, ive offered to go on a neturing contract and i could understand why some breaders are stand-offish. my answer to them was if i was a byb wouldnt i just buy a dog without of papers and not be worried about health issues. im a keen learner and i dont want to show all the time, i cant because i work for a lady at boarding kennels and she shows her springer spaniels, just want to have a go at the local shows. please i dont want any critzism of people, everybody on this forum who shows there dogs, would of had to off started somewhere. i have alot to learn about the cavalier breed and i think i will be getting a regalbourne cavalier, she has been extremely helpfull and i know that evan though we would be states apart from each other, that she would be more than accomadating with puppy

Most cav breeders either have huge rediculous contracts on their puppies or simply will not sell on the main register. I do not agree with some of the contracts that some breeders have as basically you are only feeding the dog and paying all its costs yet have no rights at the end of the day. I always steer clear of breeders like that because at the end of the day there is usually another breeder who doesnt have all of those conditions. Follow your stomach instinct. Its not always better to buy local. If you feel that this breeder is the right choice then follow your heart and stomach. I wish you the best of luck in your puppy search and much success in the showring
