wuffles Posted June 24, 2011 Share Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Yay, my first goals thread! Ava - Work on duration heelwork while keeping enthusiasm high. Must do this first! Not doing too badly on this, could still do more - Enter trials and gain CCD title. Aim for high scores rather than just passes. Finished off CCD with scores of 96, 94 and 93 - Be able to work to a CD standard and maybe enter some trials. Have entered some Novice trials coming up! Also coming along towards Open but probably not trialling standard until next year unless she surprises me - Start training in agility, and depending on when we can get into classes, hopefully start trialling towards the end of the year. Training in agility, in the intermediate class, having fun! Not sure when we will be ready to trial yet - Think about dabbling in DWD or flyball. Thought about it... but no time! - Work on manners. No jumping up, calm greeting of other dogs, no rushing to the door to greet visitors. Hrmmm... probably need more of this Satchmo - Work harder on his almost nonexistent recall. Not doing too badly on this! - Be tough but kind, be consistent with NILIF and don't let him take advantage of me. Not doing too badly on this either - Take him through at least two full sessions at our club or until he passes the Silver assessment. Ummmm... nope Me - Work hard to get my leg strength back after my surgery earlier this year so that I can keep up with Ava in agility! I am keeping up fine! - Listen to and learn from those more experienced than me. Definitely doing this. - Put in the effort to make each and every training session fun and exciting - tails must be wagging and happy. Yep! - Don't let myself get frustrated. Baby is here now Goals: * Improve our 2o2o performance on the dogwalk (sometimes he stops 4on). at the moment doing lots of work on travel board at home for proofing * proof weaves especially rear crosses an times when I slow down when he is in them (sometimes he stops or pulls out) * Manage to get to a trial and compete while having baby with me (have entered two next month) * Get an Open Jumping and Open Agility pass (we can get the distance challenge but usually have a problem somewhere else!) * Get more passes towards JDX ADX and GD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have no excuse now that I have a garage set up with lighting and antifatigue matting so I can practise groundwork and OB regardless of weather. Franky- 4mths old right now Get positions named and in the heel position from the start! And aim for CCD entry in early 2012 Begin agility foundations Have an amazing recall Demi Flyball- teach her to get the ball from the box HIC HT title Abby Get her back into Obedience and fit enough for flyball (after her litter) Enter Novice Bluey Un-break him (me having an ankle reconstruction undid a bit of the behavioural work I had done with him as he felt the need to protect me, and I wasnt able to resolve it straight away) Stop him chasing other dogs so he can enter a flyball comp!! We had an amazement today Orlando worked off lead doing CCD work he stuck by me like glue did every command spot on in heelwork, Recalls spot on, I had my step-grand kids stand in to do figure eights now we just have to pull it all off at Geelong next week :crossfingers: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Finish his HXBs title Get the last 3 passes, HIT and 1st place in A course for his herding championship. Get the passes etc for his VHCH. The herding trialling season has finished for the year in NSW with our last trials for the year this weekend. I finished Coles HXBs title and got his herding championship from A course and am on the way to his versatile herding championship. I want to add my goals to this thread (I know it's already August, but if I complete two of these by the end of the year, I will be uber happy) - 1. Train him to pass the Delta dog assessment. I'd love him to do hospital/school visits 2. Complete show training. 3. Finish the first bracket of Obedience Training (we did our intro yesterday and it was SO FUN!!!!) 4. Develop a really, really good recall. 5. Have him be able to work off-lead without running away. 6. Find a dog sport to participate in. 7. Complete Crate Games. and some not-strictly-training related-but-kinda... 8. Go 30 days without an accident inside (dog, not me). He is a nightmare to toilet train! But we'll persevere. I'm clearly doing something wrong. 9. Get him eating reliably and build food drive. 10. KEEP BUILDING LOVE OF TUG! Well, we'll see how we go. Hah. E x Hi PA I will warn you the teenage stage have not hit Scooter yet that is fun we are going through it with Dodger & Sarge, more so with Sarge he can be defiante in particular with his recalls, With his food drive try using what he has for dinner as his rewards when he does something good, like a sit or drop along side your left leg.
