Damn you BC Crazy I have now spent hours reading up about these brushes and still don't know which one to get

I know, I just want to get it right JulesP. LOL I am reckoning the double silver though as they are recommended for double coats breeds, aka, ' Sonny'.

After reading about it I sent away for the Double Silver. No good dropping hints in my house....If I want something, I go get it

Yeah, I like to hint drop first, you never know your luck. If all else fails, I just order it anyway cause I know I will use it to bits anyway.

I can't decide between the silver and purple. They are too expensive to buy too many.

If you buy a few at a time you can get them cheaper, especially if you get togethor a "buying group" and order a bulk lot direct

If you decide to do that let me know as I would probably get a couple  I'd offer to organise a buying group but swamped with stuff at the moment and don't want to let people down

I've got the yellow for the American Cockers and the red which is the heavy-duty dematting one. Does that help?

From what I have read on overseas groomer forums the difference between the Pet Edge copies and the Le Pooch is overall quality. For example, the bristles on the Le Pooch brushes have polished tips wheras the Pet Edge don't. The advantage of polished tips is that it leads to less coat breakage and damage. Coat breakage and damage can cause 'spurs' on the hair shafts which can actually result in the coat matting up easier over time.

Basically it is like the difference between a Chris Christiansen Fusion pin brush (polished tips) and a cheaper style of pin brush (no polished tips). If you are happy with a cheaper pin brush (and many people are), then buy the Pet Edge. If you prefer the feel and such of the CC or similar brushes, or have concerns about coat breakage (show coats etc) then IMO go with the Le Pooch.

Of course it if you are not sure if you will like it (they have to be used a certain way, which I understand is a bit different from normal slickers), you may want to buy the Pet Edge one and then 'upgrade' to the Le Pooch later if you find you do. :D

As I have on order a C. C. T. brush, I am thinking I will stick with the silver Les Pooch & be done with it. Hang the expense.LOL. I try to look after Sonny's coat the best I can so it would be silly to buy a brush that could cause more damage to it. I think I really only need these 2 brushes anyway & a metal comb to finish him off which I already have. I am going to get another little girl next year, so I will certainly be giving them a workout daily. They will pay for themselves in no time I reckon.

I have my silver Les Pooch brush and I am very impressed. It got some nasty mats out and more importantly there were no complaints from the doggie. Poppy has been a total pain to brush. She carries on like i am killing her. She didn't like the coat king or furminator or normal brushes. With the Les Pooch she actually shut her eyes and had a snooze and I got a nice thank you lick for my troubles.

So :(

I got my silver Le Pooch a couple of days ago, but havn't had a chance to use it yet. I am not allowed to lift, drag or push anything for another 3 weeks as I have had a couple of eye ops, but I think I will have to instruct OH in the art of doggie grooming. It certainly looks good :(
