mrsgrumblebum
Hi, we took our JRT Bindi for a walk and and when we came home we noticed a bit of grass or grass seed in her eye, tried flushing it with water and wouldn't come out. So off to the vets this morning for them to have a look, eye really swollen so they have to sedate her to have a look and remove foreign body. Poor baby was feeling quite sad for her self trying to get it out to. So I am just waiting for a call to pick her up. I'm feeling for her, but I know that she won't feel it as she is sedated but I guess she is still our fur baby and maybe I am a worry wart. Just needed to vent. Update....... Had a call from the vet saying now her eyeball may rupture when they're removing it and if it does they will have to remove her eye I feel so helpless Update again...... Bindi has come through with flying colours wasn't grass or grass seed it was some sort of thorn, her eye is ulcerated, stitched closed but open a little to put in drops, antibiotics and a cone so she doesn't try to pull out stitches. I am so relieved she is ok. Phew I am one relieved mumma. Edited November 11, 2010 by mrsgrumblebum

jadesamara
Poor Bindi. She'll have forgotten all about it by tomorrow Poor MrsGrumbleBum...betcha have butterflies in your tummy thinking about her. I know I get that feeling when something is wrong with my boy. I'm sure the vet won't mind if you give them a quick call to check on her progress. I always do :D

I gave her the go ahead to do it. Vet called a little while ago, all A OK so far, the foreign object was some sort of thorn, she has kept it for us to have a look at. poodlefan
Thank Heaven for that! I like to head for the vets at the first sign of eye trouble - things can go downhill very quickly with eyes. :D

Loving my Oldies
Ooooh makes me feel queasy in the tum to think of a thorn in an eye. I adopted a dog many years ago who had had a tick in her eye ;) and she was a right as rain. Poor Bindi will be feeling pretty sorry for herself for a couple of days, no doubt. Mumma will make it all better again, though. :D
