sheena
everyone has given you some great suggestions...definitely recommend Susan Garretts Crate Games as one of the first.. it is also a great way to toilet train your pup when you get her home... Then i would work through the Moe Strenfel Foundation DVD(great way to kick off your handling system), the puppy Jumping by Susan Salo, Success With One Jump by Susan Garrett... then start watching Greg Derretts Great Dog Shame about the handler, when pup is old enough 2x2 weave training by Susan Garrett... and for a good read definitely get Susan Garretts Shaping Success... I have just purchased the new 6 dvd set from clean run on Foundations... i have read quite a few of the articles posted in the clean run mag by Mary Ellen Barry so think that it would be a good investment as well, for the dog training side of things As for which puppy to pick, the one that tugs the heart strings is usually a good indicator :p but i look for a more confident outgoing puppy... one that loves to tug at 5 weeks... good luck with your new addition, and yes we definitely need some pics... I have quite a few of the puppy DVD's, but I have almost been tempted to purchase this 6 DVD set. BC4Me, have you had a look at it yet, or is it still coming??? I would be interested to see what you think of it. I am gathering that many DVD's that I think they are starting to repeat themselves, especially the Clean Run ones, when I get their monthly magazine too. Maybe I might end up going into "overload" if that's at all possible.
Ons
onsntillnflash, I don't have much to add except I can't wait to see that pup. I had a good chat with Ruth when you put me onto her when I was looking for a dog, I'd still like a Koolie one day and I'll probably get into contact with her again when I do. Will you pass on my congrats for the litter, they look adorable. Did you chat to Leith or Ruth? I think it was Leith, Ruth is my other coolie mate so I could be confused. Coolies are awesome dogs, can't wait to own my second one, I just love my coolie boy so much, it's a pity that I didnt' know about agiility three years ago but when I start to train the pup I'll start doing stuff with him as well. He is a smart boy and will learn quicklly. Thank you so much everyone for all this information. I'm compiling a list, it's been so helpful if bits of it not confusing Im in for a steep learnign curve I think!

bordacollies4me
just finished watching my new Foundation Fundamentals 6 dvd set... was a movie marathon.. not all in the one day though.. they arrived on Tuesday watched 2 discs on Wed, 2 on Thursday and the last 2 today.. phew... ;) overall pretty good value for money, i have picked up a few new skills i can work on with my dogs... very well set out, with Mary demonstrating and explaining each exercise with her own dogs, so you get to see the finished product, as well as 7 other younger dogs mostly puppies with some green some not so green handlers... The focused puppy.. so far so good, not a bad read and another good investment i think, i love dog training cause there is always something new to learn ... Ons
thank you everyone for all your help. this is the little cutie pie isn't she I plan to take her also to puppy school. If I don't like what they are doing at puppy school I will just ignore, she is there just for the socialisation, I think that is important for coolies and then dog training school when she is a bit older. Is that a good idea?

Well that does it I'm just going to have to get that 6 DVD set now. I have the book "Focused Puppy" & can vouch for that too. I am determined to be very prepared for when I get my next puppy & the more I can learn the less likely I am of making bad mistakes. Lucky my current BC is very forgiving & patient in her training of me
Rileys mum
I've just finished watching the 6 discs. Heaps for me to work on. It's reassuring to know that I have subconsciously been training almost all of disc 1&2 so that's a plus Makes it tricky training on my own but once classes re commence I'll be all good lol. Ps: cute puppy
