becks
As the title says, can anyone recommend any good books on the subject? (not the Feed you dog bones book as that is so dry and boring it cures my insomnia!)

becks
thanks Hesa (maybe this topic should be the next DOL book? )
AmandaJ
Lowell Ackerman's "Skin and haircoat problems in Dogs" also has info on nutrition. Adited to add---Catherine O'Driscoll's "Shock to the System" is a good read too...not just about nutrition but is an holistic view on animal health Edited November 12, 2010 by AmandaJ
mushka
I read a few books a while ago. I liked: Dr. Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs & Cats Richard H. Pitcairn D.V.M. & Susan Hubble Pitcairn And I remember "Work Wonders: Feed Your Dog Raw Meaty Bones" by Tom Lonsdale was a lot more readable than his other book "Raw meaty bones promote health" (which I found fantastically boring) but I'm not if you've already tried these. Work wonders is available as a free pdf if you google it.
becks
thanks for the suggestions. I have the Pitcairn book on order already, but will be looking into the others as funds allow. Off to google now (btw - are these available on the kindles? Just thinking it would be a good way to keep all the canine reference books!!)
