Udo's Choice

Hey guys,

We have seen a holistic vet with the two amstaffs and at the moment we are using Vets All Natural Skin supplement and WOW are coats a gleaming, it's phenomenal. This is a link to the product info http://www.vetsallnatural.com.au/index.php...1&Itemid=28

Whilst there though they suggested an alternative to that product which would be a combination of Flaxseed and Evening primrose.... now I found this product Udo's Choice ( http://www.udoschoice.co.uk/ingredients.html ) and it has both those products plus a couple of others.

Anyone had any experience or got any thoughts for me?

Cheers

Aleesha

Edit: had wrong link for Udo's

Well that's positive, it looked very good on paper.

I'm hoping someone with a little more 'dog' knowledge than myself might be able to confirm if there is anything in the product they shouldn't have.

It looked fine to me but I'm far from an expert.

I've always thought that the omegas in fish oil are 'better'. Flaxseed is just a vego option. Happy to be corrected though

Well according to my mum's naturopath (mum is a ceoliac) the flaxseed 'OIL' not capsules is the best of all. But mum won't cook with it as she hates the taste it puts through the food, and she has hell trying to 'drink' it so for her fish oil is the next best thing. But I've never looked into it myself thoroughly.

From the quick look around googles finds, it appears that most recommendations are that BOTH need to be consumed in conjunction as Flaxseed provides ALA which the body uses to produce ALL required Omega 3s in the body, while Fish Oil provides EPA and DHA, the body can make these out of ALA, however the conversion rate is pretty poor, so therefore it's advisable to take both.

Well there you go learned something new.

Just to note:

I have a friend with Great Danes and she said her's LOVE the taste of the flaxseed oil!
