Blood Clots And Pink Urine Any Ideas On What This Could Be From?

My 6 yr old boxer pee'd in the house last night and it was pink colored and had dots of blood in it. She doesn't go in the house unless she is sick either. I checked the pees on the grass just then and it has blood clots in it again. She usually eats royal canin but has been eating dog roll and supercoat biscuits for the past few days and has been taking 1/2 a 2mg polaramine for skin allergys once a day. We have a vet appoinment in 2 hrs but just wanted to see if anyone has seen this before. She was sterilaized when she was around 6mths just to rule that out too.

It is possibly a urinary tract infection. Only your Vet can really determine the cause though.

Dogs with UTIs will have visible blood at times in their urine. They also expereince some pain and discomfort with this condition and are prone to toileting inside when tye would never normall do this as they feel a constant urgency to urinate.

Females humans also experience the same thing. :rasberry:

UTIs are common in both female humans and dogs.

Could also be a sign that she has been injured somehow and has bruised kidneys.

Hope the vet visit goes well and your girl can get some help. Whatever it is, I wouldn't mind betting she's in some pain.
