On alternative methods for treating cancer. My aunties dog has recently had a leg amputated and starts chemo this week. There was a thread a while back which had something about a juice that has done wonders?

Any information would be great.

Umm......some say it's a miracle.

Got to be wary of miracles sold via "network marketing" aka "pyramid schemes".

Who knows. it might work in spite of that.

Thank Noisy - there was also info about a treatment recommended by vets and someone who had experience with the treatment and it worked? I tried to search for the thread but had no luck.

Obviously its not to replace medical treatment but at this point she is willing to try anything that wont hinder the other treatment.

When my Belar was diagnosed with osteosarcoma I did a fair bit of research on alternative treatments. The most promising is artemisinin.

Sadly, Belar's cancer progressed very rapidly and we didn't try any alternative treatments, but others have had some success, and since there are few side effects and it can be used in tandem with chemo, could be worth a try.

Yeah it'd be aloe vera juice

Ive read a few people using this stuff on dogs with all sorts of cancer lumps, with pics on international bullterrier forum and others taking out mast cell when wide margin surgery wasnt able to be performed due to location over the ribs over he heart etc, as Ive been looing for alt stff.

Several friends and I have all had a lot of success treating dogs with traditional chinese medicine, for cancer. I wouldn't use anything else now for a dog and after watching a couple of friends put dogs through very expensive and unsuccessful chemo, I believe chinese medicine to be the best solution.

I can recommend either Dr Ann Neville, a vet in Bentleigh, Vic or Lynne Pinosa (Dip. Trad Chinese Med.), at Alternative Therapies, in Austral NSW.

Don't know anyone in Adelaide, but when I used Dr Ann Neville in Vic, I did it from Sydney, through my vets and by sending hair to her for analysis. She is very good at long distance treatment but you need a local vet to be prepared to co-operate with her for best results. My vets thought I was nuts, but went along with it because they had nothing to offer my boy with a mast cell tumour. Instead of the predicted 4-6 months, he lived three happy healthy years with the chinese treatment.
