Loose Stool

Hi All,

I cant get into the vet till tomorrow morning, but Tahls has got loose stool, can still pick most of it up but scratching my head to what can be the cause. Today after her one this morning she was scooting the bum a bit, I checked it, shes not red there or anything and nothing seems abnormal. Should I give her just chicken and rice? or mashed pumpkin to see how I go for today? or any other suggestion?

I feed her hills diet, and chicken wings or neck. Nothing has really been out of the ordinary to my knowledge, only maybe giving her some cold spring water yesterday with the heat. Would that usually affect it? as she usually has tap water. I have also read sometimes can be bone in there?

I will still definitely take her to the vet tomorrow

Oh, and shes been wormed, not due for a while. Her poo has nothing weird in it either and its tan brown colour.

I know there is a lot of topics on it, but wondering if spring water might be the reason? ughh

ETA - she is her usual playful energetic self, no change in behaviour whatsoever.

Feed her boiled chicken and rice until you can get to your vet and feed smaller portions for now.

I had this problem with Katie when she was a pup all the time. I was feeding Hill Science diet. I was so worried that there was something wron but clinically she was so well otherwise. Eventually after ruling out medical issues I switched to Advance the problem was fixed INSTANTLY.

Hopefully yours will be a simple solution too, but I definately recomend a trip to the vets.

Puppies with D+ need to be seen asap.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

same here with mollie, she was on hills science and had the same problem, put her on boiled rice and chicken for a few days then put her on pro plan puppy and have not looked back, she is thriving on it

good luck

Isn't it funny.

I was quite hesitant in mentioning this a while back as the discussion came up elsewhere.

And the more I mention it the more people I find who have had the same experience.

katie also used to drink excessively and that has also stopped with Advance.

All my dogs are on it now and they are all doing really well. Hills is very high in sodium, but I am not sure why it causes the loose stools.
