OSoSwift
Sorry to hear that Perse. It is so heart breaking. While I haven't used bird netting as yet I am considering it. I have had 10 from memory, right near the house and half trying to get into the dogs runs. They have a few thousand acres to play on, they can stay away from my 5! Oh and yes pay attention to the birds. All but a couple have been sprung by the brids around here, whenever I hear the birds kicking up I stop and look to see what they are doing. Sometimes it is another bird in their territory that they don't want there but quite often it is a snake.
shepherds
We use the 'bird netting' I lost my Molly dog last night- presumed snake ..as we recently dispatched a BIG brown from near the pen she was in. Molly was not a worker- she was very soft mouthed, and my rabbit retrieving/hunting dog.I had her for 6 years. She was always sneaking inside and stealing Hamlet's soft toys ... Bloody snakes. So sorry for your loss Persephone......
