Jetty
We are taking Jet camping with us in a weeks time which I am super excited about. He has to be either crated or on lead at all times though. I have tried previously to buy on of those long line leads or 'recall' leads which are a few metres long but can never find one longer then 120cm or something. Does anyone know where I could find one of these on short notice. I would prefer not online unless ofcourse I could get express postage. ETA: I am South of Brisbane, Logan Area. SpotTheDog
Find an equine supplier and buy a long rein or a lunge rein?
Jetty
Find an equine supplier and buy a long rein or a lunge rein? Thanks that is a good thought. I know you can get actual dog leads though which would come in handy for a lot of things.
dancinbcs
Find an equine supplier and buy a long rein or a lunge rein? Unless you have a large dog the trojan hooks on the lunge reins are too heavy.
huga
Hey JJ - name your length and I can make you one I can even put clips/buckles/d rings on the other end for easy attachment to stuff.

CrazyCresties
I got one recently from Better Pets and Gardens, it was a lunge line but they had it in the dogs lead section I think it's 10 meters.

Mim
I've got a horse lunge lead and the clip is no problem for my corgis. Mine is either 10m or 12m, can't remember.
Dust Angel
All of my lunge leads for my horses have normal dog clips on them.
ozjen
You can also get 180cm long leads at most Kmart or BigW pet sections if you want something longer than the normal lead (which is usually 90-120cm long) but not the 8+ metres of a lunge lead. If the breed is very small I have seen really long small dog leads in the $2.00, Crazy Clarkes and Red Dot style stores can't remember the length but at least 5metres I'd say. Jetty
I am after something about 5 metres and has to be strong if he pulls which is most likely. Thanks huga for the offer. Someone has PM'd me so I will see what they can make otherwise I will come to you
Rebanne
when I was after a tracking lead many years ago I went and bought some rope from Mitre 10 and a dog clip and took them both to the local saddler who sewed the clip on for me. Still using it 15 or so years later.
nellbell
I actually found a great 7m lead at a $2 dollar shop of all places. Its aqmazing what you find in those shops. Its that standard fabric type lead material and has normal clip at one end and normal loop 'handle' at the other. Its brilliant and has come in handy many times. poodlefan
If you're actually planning on walking him on the lead I'd buy a good quality 5m flexi lead. Managing a 5m long line in bush would not be easy.
