ozwildflower
I emailed the 'contact' and got this reply..... 'Yes, hundreds of fake and incorrect breeder listings, Plus ads for Viagra, painkillers and steroids, plus a heap of porn videos have been loaded onto my hobby site about dogs. My site has been hacked, I am deleting data now, and reverting to an older version of the database. My apologies for any distress caused, I assure you, mine is no less than yours right now. Sincerely Nici B...... ' Poor thing, thinks me.
SwaY
This has been posted on the front page... Attention! Please readAt some point in the last fortnight, my website's security was compromised, and a whole heap of junk data was loaded to my site. This included a. Breeders details from other sites.... except with the details all changed. b. Thousands of offers for the sale of different pharmaceuticals. c. Hundreds of Adult videos were loaded onto pages, and were automatically downloading when people visited those pages. I am mortified by this attack on my site which is run only as a hobby site. I have now rolled back my site database to a time predating this attack, and am currently attempting to locate the source of the attack, and how those responsible gained access to my site. I apologise to anyone who was affected by this event - I am doing all I can to rectify the problem and ensure it does not happen again. Bokezu
was speaking with some breeders today who are less than happy. One breeder had her kennels whereabouts shown on a google map and does not have her address on any sites, is seriously looking into where the information came from
AmandaJ
Having something of a background with databases...I found it interesting that all phone numbers had the leading 0 missing. That normally happens when you import from a .csv file without specifying that certain fields should be read as text. Most programs see numbers and read as numbers but will ignore the leading 0. To get leading 0 to be read the field must be imported as text field BEFORE the import is completed. Hypothetically - the information could have been provided in .csv format from another program and then imported incorrectly.
