B-Q
Just wondering. Anyone heard of any over here?
oakway
Sorry no, I personally have not seen or heard of any. People may have brought them into the country as pets, but as they are not a recognized by the Controlling Body of this country it may be difficult to find out if there are any out there. This list is good place to start.
JulesP
Nope haven't heard of any. I like the sound of them though.
B-Q
Didn't think it was likely.
Lowenhart
While someone might have brought a pet or 2 in, it would be unlikely that there is anyone breeding them here. They aren't recognised by the AKC which is the only registry which the ANKC acknowledges, so they can't be a registered ANKC breed here.
AmandaJ
They are not a recognised breed by the American Kennel Club, UK Kennel Club or the A.N.K.C. They are a farm bred working dog from mixed origins - along similar lines to the Smithfield.
JulesP
Probably no more mixed then the Australian Shepherd Sounds like the breeders didn't want them registered by the AKC. They have their own registry and can get registered in various sporting/stock registries. I got interested in them after some popped up on a 'sable border collie' facebook page. An American herding instructor also asked if my sable border collie was an English Shepherd as sable is common in that breed.

B-Q
From what I've read they arn't specialised as a lot of herding breeds, they are designed to be all round, versatile farm dogs capable of moving and protecting livestock. I don't think that they arn't kennel club registered makes them any less of a purebred dog but I didn't know they wern't AKC registered.
JulesP
They have been around for a good 80 years and breed true to type so that makes them a purebred dog IMO.
