Guest CaptainCourageous
Can anyone give me some feedback on the size, main training methods and club culture of the following clubs: Northern Districts Kennel & Obedience Club Inc (Elizabeth) Munno Para Dog Obedience Club Inc (Davoren Park) Para Districts Obedience Dog Club Inc (Salisbury) Gawler Dog Training Club Inc (Willaston) Northern Districts is listed on the SACA website as "Kennel" - does it train? I'm trying to help an elderly gentleman train his Schippy pup. He has previously owned GSDs. CC

Guest CaptainCourageous
Piper's internet connection dropped out before the PM could be sent, so I still need some help here.
Mrs Rusty Bucket
Out of those northern clubs, I only know about Para Districts. I belong to SAODC (South Parklands in the city). I like Para Districts. They seem to use mainly positive methods (haven't seen any negative ones, was at an agility mock trial so didn't notice if there were choke chains or not). Their volunteers are very helpful and friendly and encouraging. They've got a big area to train in with a fenced off dog park next to it. And plenty of car parking right next to the clubrooms. If you are looking at grounds and facilities - Para have a great setup. Their grounds are lovely. Gawler's is not bad either but nowhere near the size of Para's. Northern I think are just on an oval now (they have moved a few times over the years) Actually a bonus to Munno Para is they train on a fully fenced (cyclone fence, about 8 foot high) area. They share with the local little athletics club so the grounds are nice and flat and the grass usually in great condition. ETA: PM resent, stupid internet connection!
