Guest belgian.blue
I'm ordering Badger an ezy walk harness tonight, online, and I also want to get him and Ivy some toys to have in the backyard but nothing too expensive. Something fun and exciting as I just laid lawn so I want to keep his attention away from my lawn! They currently have a kong, tug ropes, nylon chew bone and soft toys. They will also have a paddle pool in the warmer weather. So I was thinking of having half a clam shell filled with sand for him to dig in. They both aren't strong chewers. The yard is quite large but of course they stay around the house when I'm not home.
MavericksMission
Cuz Toys & Aussie Dog Toys are Popular Here! (aussie dog toys are a lit more expensive, but worth it if you want to spend that much) Cuz toys are really cheap and good quality
BigPaws
I'm going to be laying new lawn in the next few weeks and will fence it off for a few weeks so dogs can't play on it. I am a big supporter of Aussie Dog toys but they will play with them wherever they can. If your dogs like plush toys, Tuffies have some good choices. wagsalot
So I was thinking of having half a clam shell filled with sand for him to dig in. I used to bury toys and treats in a sandpit we made for Riley - used to keep him occupied for a while and he learnt that was his designated digging spot pretty quick too. Guest belgian.blue
I'd ideally like to fence my new lawn off but it was expensive enough buying lawn! My yard is in two halves so if need be, I can keep them in the back section when I'm not home. Has plenty of shade. Thanks for the suggestions, I shall google away Today I bought them each a naturally smoked whole lamb neck, so they will get that Tuesday when I go back to work. I'm sure that will keep them busy for a day or two Badger is the worry with the lawn, Ivy couldn't care less about it.

I was hoping Badger also learns this. So far he hasn't been a bad digger but he searches for things in the yard. So I think burying his toys in his sandpit will keep him away from my grass! BigPaws
You can put up temporary fence pretty cheaply using star pickets and fencing rolls from bunnings. I have a 6ft fence jumper but she doesn't try to get through the stuff I've put around the boundary which is the standard dog fence and star pickets from Bunnings. SpotTheDog
I have a jumper, digger, chewer (who's only about six months old :D Dear God help me if it gets worse and not better!) There are a range of heavy rubber toys by a company called europet bernina - there's a pet shop in Epping, Victoria who are closing down and selling the toys cheap at the moment. There are *THE BEST THING* I've found so far for Gus. I can't imagine they're the only shop that stocks them, seeing you're in WA! They have this one toy we call the 'morningstar ball' - it's a rubber ball covered in rubber spikes. He hasn't managed to destroy it and he LOVES it. The rubber nubs seem to give him a gum massage as he chews and mouths the ball, and it's a good size for throwing and bouncing in the garden too. He loves it so much I actually went back and bought two more of them before the shop closes - at about $6 each they're a steal. They also have a heavy rubber bone (like a barbell - that ones good for hauling about the place and throwing up in the air) a rubber ring (that one's great for pushing around the floor because you can't figure out how and where to pick it up) and rubber balls (we didn't buy one of these because we have choking paranoia - hence the rubber-nub-covered morningstars instead). newfsie
My newfie (14 months) has an all time favourite toy......It is a 3litre milk bottle with a rope attached. She flies with it everywhere. we often change the bottle, but she loves it. it seems to make the right amount of noise and movement to keep her interested for hours. She teases the older dogs with it and races off, rope in mouth. the older dogs often give chase just for fun. it is the cheapest and most time enduring toy we have ever had
