Dame Aussie
So Mo has cut his front left foot pad, it's small, say a few mm long. Not really bleeding anymore. We have washed with salty water but I was wondering if there was much else we can do? It shouldn't need a vet but we'll keep an eye on it for any signs of infection. I have paw paw ointment but would it help on the foot? Poor boy Thanks guys

Edenblue
Yep, bathing in salty water is a great start! I would try to do it twice daily. Iodine is fab too, and if you can pop a dressing on it for a few days (change it daily) something non stick directly over the pad (melolin from your vet or something similar from a pharmacy as long as its non adhesive) then a bit of elastoplast over the top, this will just keep it clean so you reduce the chance of infection being that its on the pad and hence exposed to all kinds of surfaces. Tilly
I used Betadine on my boy when he cut his paw ... also I put a bootie on his sore paw when I was walking him in public as I didn't want to pick up any nasties and it provided a bit of extra protection.
