poodlefan
Dried liver is always a healthy option. Or you can go above and beyond and bake your own. ooh thought of another - those whole dried little fish cat treats are enjoyed by some dogs. Ptolomy
I do the same as Bedazzled - use the little plastic containers from Coles and fill them with mince, goat, chicken necks, pork - anything raw. This is used for jackpot type efforts, so I will take the container out of my pocket - give the god a small portion and put the container away. Usually in my other pocket I have an assortment of goodies including raw sweet potato, chicken necks, cheese, whitebait, 4 legs - the list is endless. luvsdogs
I haven't used 4 Legs since April was alive but from memory they weren't that easy to use as treats as they would crumble if I tried to cut them into smaller bits. At my dog club we use Chunkers. I find the ones without vegie/cheese the best. I can get 10 - 20 treats out of one meatball by breaking off with my fingernail. Tilba loves them. Have you thought of getting a de-hydrator & making your own treats using thin slices of raw meat & fruits? I've thought of getting one but as yet haven't got around to it. A club member has one & has 'recipees' that she uses in the de-hydrator.
Bundyburger
I'd prefer 4Legs over Chunkers. 4Legs is quite popular as a training treat.I tend to use things like roast chicken, cheese or cabanossi. Are they better form a nutritional perspective or just a personal preferance? 4Legs contain coconut which I'm allergic to so I've not used them before. My dog does not like cabinossi. We do use cheese and left-over roast occasionally but more for drive work than marker training I actually get a better response to chunkers than 4legs... He will work so much harder. We're substituting this for majority of his meal as well. I tried feeding him his kibble through training but he spits it out The usual dried treats work but not on a regular basis. Bet it won't be long before he's bored of the chunkers

It cuts up nicely into cubes of whatever size you choose, holds its shape and is a lot less messy than the loose chunks. The rolls are a little harder to find, but some Coles and Safeways do sell them. Oh, they freeze too, so I've discovered. I cut the rolls into 200g sections, freeze them, then defrost and cube them as required. Whaaa-laaa, easy peazy.
