Adza
Same thing happened with my pup at 10 weeks, ended up being a growth issue in legs due to diet when born etc and they told me she needs surgery and see the specialist for consult at $200 or so. I was devestated and so upset I only had her like 2 days. Went for another opinion said it was normal, seen it before and will grow out of it, which she has! no problems at all. Scary thing is starting to believe them. And that was just looking at her [no xrays or nothing. It's hard to trust vets now because of crap like this. Now I will always get other opinions
Sayreovi
Scary how often this is happening. While I can see why they try it on heavier breeds that are prone to HD and unknown heritage, playing on the owners fear, but too try it on a rare breed with a known background and will probably only weigh 15 kgs when full grown is unbelievable. Did they not think I wouldn't go away and research?
espinay2
Unfortunately many pet owners don't research Tollersowned. They trust what their vets say implicitly. They are the 'trusted experts' after all, and that position holds quite a bit of power.
Sayreovi
I guess thats true unfortunately , but they tried it out on the wrong person and when I go to collect my dogs history I will be telling them exactly why I am now using another vet. MTD
so scarey I was very lucky to experience the opposite where I was steered away from surgery and onto non surgical proceedures
