Calm Puppies!

And I know I'm not the only DOLer who does it either

Oh no, it's Micha's favourite game. He loves the I'm-a-scary-monster-and-I'm-gunna-get-youuuuuu!! game :thumbsup:

I am not interested in owning a totally calm puppy, I want my dogs to be active and crazy and have a bit of the devil in them (or a lot, LOL) and to switch on and give me 110% when I ask for it, but like RSG and PF there are situations where I want calmness and well behaved puppies.

He's a bc cross. Just trying out the 'scary monster'.... he just doesn't get it. It descended into fetch ball/hide and seek....

That was a game I used to play with the poodles too. They were so funny - if I hid under a blanket - then they couldn't find me, even though there was an obvious bulge!!!! Playing with Sam AND Puppy - Sam would get the ball, Puppy would follow me - and give it away to Sam. Such a dobber! Good memories!

To the OP: thinking about your question. I remember I once put my puppy to sleep by talking to him. I had his full attention, so I just started gabbing on about my day, slowly his eyes dropped..... typical male really!

Thank you very much for your responses :( . There is definatley alot of good information here on raising a puppy that can be calm and knows what times are appropiate for games and excitment and what times are for calm times.

Oh and Poodlefan.....both my boys love the Scary Monster game aswel, and come to think of it, I have alot of fun playing it too!

I do a form of scary monster thing with my Grand kids, they have to poke my "off switch" on my forehead, shoulder etc. The place varies.

They now call me Nana monster and I love it. Love the looks people give me and them when out in public too and they call me that. It was at its best when I was bald from chemo but now I have hair again. lol.
