BMAK
(its not my dogs) at o.training there are many people with little fluff balls who look quite nice and are friendly to people but just go crazy at the sign of other dogs no matter the size or status. one inperticular has actually slipped out of the harness it was wearing and went to attack another small sized dog. she took it to the vets and got a hormone injection or something to reduce the teststerone but hasnt seemed to work im interested on how people should try to calm and stop the behaviour with a dog of such size with such low attention span. with out picking the dog up i would like to know ? all i have thought of is to have the dog sit and stay and try to focus the attention on something while another dog walks past. as there is a lady who looks like she needs some help

poodlefan
The owner needs to seek the help of a Behaviourist. x 2 Until the WHY of this behaviour is understood, the HOW of resolving it will be unknown. Personally I don't think asking the dog to sit is often very helpful. IF the behaviour is anxiety driven, it just makes the dog more vulnerable. Dog and owner need to be looked at as a package. The owner's behaviour sometimes cues or reinforces the dog's.
