I think Sebbi is allergic to Fleas, actually I am pretty sure, but before I get allergy testing done I want to try a few things.

He never had itchy skin, until 1 day I say him itching took him for a hydro bath and found a flea, I treat straight away but got no real response in his scratchies/Itchies.

So I strated messing around with his diet, changed washing poweder ect.

Then we got 2 kitties, so I was thinking maybe the Kitties were making him itchy.

But then yesterday I found out the doggie he hangs with most days is crawling with fleas, even though I mentioned it way back when I found his first flea I was told the other dog didnt have fleas and was treated for fleas regularly.

I know now this cant be the case and its crawling with fleas.

So my question is best/easiest/cheapest way to treat fleas

Do I need to do my car, both dogs have been in it???

Do I need to treat the whole back yard, only a few spots are dirt the rest is lush grass, back yard is huge??

What about the pavers outside do I need to treat them?

Inside whats the best way to go with treatments, feal bombs, sprays, industrial cleaning??

What about poor Sebbi, flea collar, spot on treat ments, washes, capstar tablets?

What to wash him in, how often, when to start??

I want to get onto this asap and do the whole thing at once and erradicate the hole flea population as one flea causes huge problems.

If this does not reduce or stop his itchies, he will be getting specialist vet treatment for his skin.

We have a flea allergic dog so I know what you are going through (if that is it). We took a long term approach to the problem but it wasn't cheap. We ended up removing the grass and laying artificial lawn and using scoria in the border areas. There are no plants on the dogs side of the yard (they have plenty of shade). We treat the dogs, bedding and the environment. We spray the entire area - a month before summer starts, a few times during the summer months and then again at the end of summer. The dogs are flea treated with spot on application all year round but we do it less regularly in winter. If we do have an outbreak we increase the regularity of the treatments. Our house has no carpets so we don't need to flea bomb but I do use Penny Royal in the house if we have an outbreak. We keep antihistamine on hand if he does have a reaction (he's also allergic to spiders but loves to chase them). Not knowing what breed the dog is you may need to check whether he/she is MDR1 effected before you use most of the common flea treatments. Good luck.

What do you use in the yard

I have a flea/insect allergic dog, I use Revolution and then 2 weeks later Comfortis and then Revolution again, but you can use the Comfortis once a week in the short term as directed by the derm. I have not treated my yard as yet, we mainly have paving. We do all this as a precaution, never seen a flea on him.

Malawash/ Malaban (get it from the stock feed shop) in the yard - on the artificial grass, the pavers, and the garden bed areas. We also use a high pressure cleaner and biodegradable disinfectant every few months just to keep it clean.

We treat the area so we don't need to treat the dogs as often. The less chemicals they get the better off they are.

We have not had fleas here since the cats went to the bridge. All problems over.

1 tablet once a month so this pack would last 6 months. That was for my guys and my heaviest is 18 kilos. So it might be more for you if seb is in the next weight catagory.
