Stolzseinrotts
Good luck to all the pending Mum's, may you all have healthy and safe arrivals.Any tips to cope with the warm weather would be very welcome. cooling mats do help, and have a place by the pups, put a wet towel down, where she can lay on it, to help cool her down.. Thank you Poms NZ, I have cooling coats that can double up as mats. :D I so hope we miss most of the very hot weather, the Mother of this litter doesn't mind the heat and is often caught roasting herself in the sun on a hot day. Talisker
Can I join too? Just got confirmation we are expecting bernes babies on December - due Christmas Eve! Congratulations to everyone else expecting litters in December
murmarstaffs
after speaking with the vet and bella's history ( 2 absorbed litters) we are not going to get a scan done on her due to she stresses out too much with them and we will let nature take its course. She will be 4 weeks on sunday and due around boxing day and she has already become fussy with food and put a little weight on so we will see what happens. I hate not knowing but I think this time its the best way to go.

murmarstaffs
we are not entirely sure, it just seems that after a week of scanning she starts to absorb. we are going to the vet on wednesday to get her checked over and discuss options then. Its all too new for me with absorbing so i guess all i can do is take the vets advice and follow that

The vet seems to think that 1 was possible being obsorbed :D I do know that progestrone levels do play a big part in the bitches ability to go full term without obsorbing but you have to come across a vet that knows all about it and who is prepared to help you with it. All the best :D

SBT101
Apperntly to be able to keep and deliver a little the progestrone levels have to be quite high, normally in the range of what they are when they are ovulating. There is a topic in the breeders section about progestrone during pregnancy. That might give you some more understanding of it... http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=208015
Firestone
According our fertility specialist anything below 50 puts a litter at risk. We had our girl scanned and pregnancy confirmed at 4 weeks after mating and a progesterone test done then. Her levels were 52 so she was started on weekly progesterone injections. Having lost two previous litters from this girl we were happy to follow the specialists advice and the result was a happy healthy litter
