Pawfect
This is pretty extreme. In all serious, how can you DESPISE a cat or kitten or a dog? You may be ambivalent or not at all interested, but DESPISE ??? I find that quite extraordinary. I agree - it is pretty extreme. I just don't get how he can be a sweetheart to our dogs (he really does adore them), but HATE others for no reason
OSoSwift
Dee your husband and mine could be having the same convo apart from changing the Goldie to Whippet and his childhood upbringing was that all dogs are dirty and live outside and all dogs have worms (he has a thing about worms in people or dogs and all need to be regularly de-wormed, which the dog and cats are anyway, but he will often ask and check that they are done!) We now have two Whippets that laze all over the lounge, have "daddy snuggles" are the best dog ever and why would I want anything otehr than a Whippet?? They are perfect! We are discussing number 3 (which is a little different) I NEVER thought EVER that he would be yeh of course we need Whippet number 3!

Staff'n'Toller
One of my clients was in the same sort of situation, husband:dog relationship going quite well now. She has started contacting breeders about a second dog...not sure when she is going to talk to him about it though..."oh look a puppy appeared in our yard, how cute!!"
