♥Baxter♥
What breed is your puppy? I use Interceptor Spectrum which cover pretty much everything. http://www.interceptorspectrum.com.au/

♥Baxter♥
Sentinel Spectrum is a great way to cover all you need - If your dog has fleas, I'm not sure if it will kill them or not.

♥Baxter♥
naa he has no flees its more just as a precausion.. i wasnt sure how often i need to worm and flee him?? I would put him on sentinel spectrum & do it monthly. (I would do mine in spring & winter only if I could) but it really depends on a few factors such as where you live, & where you go - From November I'll be taking Baxter to obedience classes, & will do him all year around as he will be in contact with many dogs apparently, so to keep him safe he will be done every month. I asked my vet about year inj. for heartworm his answer was no, he's better off on Interceptor We must have a good vet!
megan_
If your dog has already had the heartworm injection, then I'd advice against using a product with heartworm prevention - double dosing on some pretty strong medicine. If you're unsure what your dog has had, speak to your vet. I only treat mine for intestinal worms and heartworm (monthly tablets). If they ever get fleas I'll deal with them then. I hate dosing them up for things that they don't have.
cvs
I agree you dont need to heartworm for another 11 months ;) in the meantime you can use drontal worm tablets every three months (or something similar) if you want to flea him then it usually 4 weeks after the last time you gave it Once 12 months for the injection is complete you can look at other heartworm alternatives if you wish to with my dogs I use a heartworm/all wormer every 4 to 6 weeks. Currently they are on Interceptor, but the next I will buy will be Milbemax as it is the same product just cost less for the amount of dogs I have here at the moment. I dont treat for fleas unless I see one. If I go to the coast with Paralysis ticks are in abundunce then they are all put on Advantix. Hope this helps, but as I stated this is only what I do
stormie
A heartworm injection at 4months old will not last 12months. If your vet is following the puppy schedule, I'm pretty sure they also need another at 6 then 9 months. So in a couple of months time, the injection you got at 3months of age will have worn off. Personally, I'd avoid it and instead, once your current injection has run out, switch to something like Interceptor or Sentinel. But I wouldn't use it at the same time as others have said - it's doubling up. The heartworm injection is completely unrelated to intestinal worms - all it covers is heartworm so you still need to follow a regular worming routine for intestinal worms and you can flea treat whenever you need to.
