newfsie
Tobias went to our favorite vet yesterday..........we went at the end of his day, so that we would have plenty of time. The girls went for their vaccinations and heartworm checks. Everyone was so good and well behaved. All the people were awed at our team coming in and being so good. But the news for Toby is not good....... Toby has lymphoma....he has at least two very large lumps that will possible affect his walking and or bowel movements. Our vet tells us it could be two weeks or three month. But if the lumps do not increase in size, maybe longer. Mike was devastated (so am I) He has just walked in and taken our hearts. But we decided that no we would not put him down, which was offered. We are going to give him a happy short life, until he has pain or cannot move freely.....Some of you have seen him in the video's he runs and bounces and barks away, he is joyful, he is going to have a joyful time. I am crying as I post this, BUT.....We will now get on with living. This is Toby time Toby is thew barking oneAs an add on, the poor guy has a broken lower jaw...........Quite recent and it has healed, sort of, out of alignment. His cherry eye now has drops to reduce the inflammation. the jaw will stay as is. The neutering is not happening and neither is the cherry eye repair. So today he is going to the river and tomorrow maybe the lake again. because he loves to go out on trips. He gained some more weight and is happily snoring here in the lounge room. Katy and Annabelle had a good play session with him this morning and Tessa even allows him to smell her now. So here is to Toby being happy

He made 4 months after diagnosis, really didn't effect him till the last 2 days, they do go quickly then. Did he have a biopsy or needle aspiration to confirm it? Perry's Mum
I am so sorry, I lost Amber to that as well - she lasted only about 6 weeks from the initial diagnosis. At least during the six weeks she seemed well and happy but the beginning of the seventh week she was clearly going down hill fast so I gave her her wings so that she would not have to suffer. At least he will go knowing he was loved.
