I agree with this:

If you walk your dogs off lead, and you can see cars, then you’re a f'ing idiot. Dog beaches, dog parks or enclosed areas that are safe are different. It your dog has line of sight to a moving car then you’re taking a huge f'ing gamble.

Some unfenced dog parks are right next to a parking lot. I would never let my dogs offleash if there is any possibility of traffic nearby, even if it is a designated offleash area.

There are NO fenced dog parks or ovals near me.

There's a terrific one in Carlton which is too far from me to use, but I wish all ovals were fenced like that one.

How sad - this happened in WA ;) Roberts Road in Subi is very busy, about 5 mins out of Perth City Centre and a major thoroughfare road so I would sincerely hope that the owner of this poor dog was not irresponsible enough to be walking their dog off-leash in that area ... either way, an absolute tragedy for all concerned. RIP poor puppy.
