Shmurps
Can anyone suggest a bone or meat cut for a grey to help with his canine teeth? We have chicken carcass a couple times a week and lamb flaps. We tried a beef bone only to discover he came out in a mild case of hives, tried a chunky lamb neck with lots of meat on it when a piece got stuck, luckily he got it out. I was ready to jump in. He is 6 and we are trying to maintain his teeth
harley
What about a turkey neck? I haven't tried this with mine though. Mine gets the occasional beef bone, lamb flap and regular chicken necks.
Everythings Shiny
My mother gives hers turkey necks. You can get them at Woolies in the pre packed meat section. Smooch gets half a one nightly (he's a midget kelpie though) So your's will probably be best with a full turkey neck :D
anniek
apart from the usual - frames, lamb necks, lamb shanks, mine also get huge chunks of meat to chew through - they pull the meat apart so their front toofers get "flossed". - an ox tongue cut lengthways - half a tongue = one meal - 500g lump of stewing steak = one meal - 500g chunk of ox heart = one meal turkey drumsticks are excellent too
Shmurps
Thankyou. I've tried lamb shanks splinter too much for a gulper. When he had the beef bone he was really using his front teeth and canines to rip the meat off. He is a gulper. Will try the large lumps of meat.
