 There's not many around! We always stop and jump out of the car if we see someone walking one, we must look so crazy but other Irish Terrier owners seem to understand!

ROFL we do that with BCs, there is only one breeder (that i know of) in tassie that breeds red border collies, you can spot the line a mile away, since getting Blue we're always on the lookout for his relatives, I'm often bailing up people and their red BCs to chat about them

I work in a petshop (with no animals being sold - apart from RSPCA kittens) and one day was 'unusual breed central'... apart from the usual labs and goldens and borders we saw:

- boston puppy

- phaelene (sp?)

- airdale puppies

- lakeland terrier

- swiss shepherd

- GSP (with 3 legs)

There were more but obviously too many to remember!

I spent 3 weeks in the UK in July and was staggered to see so many crossbreeds. One day in Dorset I counted 6 Border Terriers (my fave terrier). I don't think I saw a designer dog at all. Most popular breeds seemed to be Westies, Jack Russells with a lot of Labs and poodles amongst them. Very interesting - pet shops don't sell dogs over there! I long for the day that this happens over here although I do have a house full of rescued mongrels - oh hang on, they are really DDs ....

They are often advertised in the paper here in Tas.... usually with a "rare red colour" tag and an inflated pricetag to match...
