Hi there.

Just a few quick questions.

Any body have any info on what is in the flea rinse used in the commercial hydro baths?

On it's own is it an effective flea treatment if the dog is washed every 2 weeks?

Has any body had any bad experiences with it?

I'm afraid I can't answer your question siks3 but I would be more concerned that a dog is getting bathed every 2 weeks.

I thought that with the shampoos today not being detergent based it's not as bad as it was years ago and it was ok to bath more frequently.

I may be wrong though.

We use Fido's Fre-Itch Rinse (or the Herbal version) in our hydrobath at home ... we don't use any shampoo just the rinse.

It is a flea treatment that is supposed to last 1-2 weeks ...

When the dogs were working we used to bath them weekly as they built up a lot of grime on their skin ...

AFAIK if it bubbles, there is detergent. Anything that cleans the oils from our dogs' coats isn't good when it is done frequently (IMO).

Most use Fido's free itch.

I have never seen it damage a dogs coat in all the years it has been on the market.

I have seen it used weekly for years, still with no damage to the coat.

It's not a cheap product but it does work.

Their will always be a few exceptions to the rule but on the whole I have seen it work the best.

If I am preparing a long coat for the ring it may be bathed twice weekly or more. For this type of coat preparation the dogs would be flea treated and I would wash and condition and oil the coat with best products for the type of coat the dog has.
